When acting on behalf of Logan City Hands of Compassion (LCHOC), our staff will strive to: - Be non judemental - LCHOC staff are not to use value judgements in relation to other people and their lives. It is far more valuable and less condemning to look for a positive outcome or highlight potential consequenses.
- Be completely upfront - LCHOC staff will deal with any complaints that arise quickly and directly. Staff will always be up front and honest with people when a problem arises, talk directly and only to the people directly involved first, and ONLY if the issue cannot be resolved directly involve other staff (preffable a HOC board member or management team member). This policy is in regards to problems that do no cause a risk to the health and safety of others, are not illegal or abusive in nature and do not invole inappropriate dealings with minors. Any of these more serious problems must be referred to HOC management immediately so that positive action can be taken to resolve the situation. Staff will not discriminate against those who have made any type of complaint and the identities of people making a complaint for action by other staff (serious issues, complaints from non-staff etc) will be kept confidential wherever possible.
- Act with integrity - LCHOC staff will conduct all business fairly transparently and without favouritism.
- Not discriminate - Staff will act according to these rules --deal fairly, sensitively and appropriately-- and act in everyones best interest regardless of ethnic background, race, relegion, gender, age or phyical or mental differences.
- Make time for people - LCHOC staff will be open and approachable. Staff will make time for everyone not exclusively group themselves in such a way that could resonably cause people feel excluded.
- Act in accordance with Christian Principles - This is part of our rules of incorporation.
- Support, Educate and Empower - Staff wil embrace the SEE framework in dealing with everyone, including other staff, members of other organisations, and any member of the public.
If any anyone feels any staff member has breached these rules please talk to a staff member and action will be taken immediately.
If a complaint is reported to a staff member (or they see something they feel is against this policy) that staff member will act in accordance woth the policy of being completely upfront and talk directly to the other staff member or members involved (with confidence in regard to the identities of those making a complaint).
