Meeting started: Friday, July 27, 2008 at 7:00pm. Meeting held at Logan City Baptist Church 'Children's Church' room. Voting Members Present: Mal. Holmes 1. Last Minutes agreed to. Moved XXX, Seconded XXX, Carried. 2. Nominations for Executive Committee. 2.1 Reading of current nominations. 2.2 Call for any additional nominations. 3. Presentation of reports. 3.1 Tui Magele - Treasurer's Report 3.2 Mal Holmes - Management Report Mal reported that the Logan City Hands of Compassion has a good standing in the community and that it has had no bad reports. People are respecting LCHOC and its volunteers. LCHOC is by extension helping put its major sponsor and supporter, Logan City Baptist Church, in a good position within the community. The Logan City Baptist Church have some consernes over small catering items such as biscuits, cordial, dishwashing liquid and the like being used up by LCHOC. We are making sure to use our own consumables and where possible allow the Church to use these as well. Ben notes he has been acting secretary and president only for a short period of time due to unforseen resignations. The new Website is now operational and a new Logan City Hands of Compassion "Hands and Heart" logo is currently being used and will need a formal vote to make this our official logo. We are seeking to move the website from its current location as part of the Logan City Baptist Church website to its own web server with its own domain name. The new Cold room and Freezer are now operational and will be opened as soon as a few last finishing touches can be applied. This new infrastructure was purchased using a grant from the Queensland Government Gambling Community Benefit Fund and will allow us to store many times the food for our direct food support efforts. Just Do it electrical has provided the electrical work with no labour costs. It is our intention to publish all of the minutes of meetings on the internet where practical and possible and be as transparent as possible in all of our dealings. The Logan City Baptist Church has created a series of documentation relating to behavioural standards including child protection guidlines. The church has made it a compulsery requirement to aggree to these standards to retain our status as a ministry of the Logan City Baptist Church. The various documents are available on the main building. After a review of the material it is Ben's recomendation to enact these as policy, not just to keep the support of the Logan City Baptist Church, but because they are very good standards to have and are inline with our own charter. 3.4 Acceptance Motion moved by XXX that the reports be agreed to. Seconded by XXX, Carrie. 4. General Business. 4.1 Launch of Coldroom. Coldroom Launch was noted as a success.4.2 Adoption of new image. New image adopted. 4.3 Adoption of staff code of conduct. Staff code of conduct adopted 4.4 Adoption of Logan City Baptist Church behavioral standards. Formally adopted (but have always been adhered to) 4.5 Photographs for the website The management comittee reports that photographs are being sought for the new LCHOC website. Positive images are being sought particularly showing the work LCHOC does rather than showing the work that needs to be done.4.6 Call for volunteers The management comittee reports that volunteers are urgently needed and should anyone wish to help they can contact Mal. 5. Voting for Executive Committee. 5.1 Motion to take a combined vote as formal. Motion moved to have one vote by show of hands and to take the vote as formal should it be unanimous. Moved David Proctor, Seconded Mal Holmes, Carried. 5.2 Result of vote. All persons niminated were accepted. 6. Next Meeting Next members meeting date to be advised.
